About the Role

Our client, a global engineering and design firm, is hiring a Healthcare Principal for its growing Houston office. This is a mechanical seller-doer role: you’ll partner with leadership to deliver and grow the Houston healthcare business while leading hands-on technical work.

You’ll lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, deliver forward-thinking, sustainable healthcare designs that solve clients’ toughest challenges, and serve as a key member of the Texas leadership team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams in designing and delivering healthcare projects that meet client goals, regulatory standards, and contract requirements
• Build strong healthcare client relationships that drive repeat business and new opportunities
• Own project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver on time, on budget, and to the highest quality
• Manage financial performance, apply risk controls, and ensure technical and regulatory compliance
• Supervise and mentor engineering teams through development opportunities and performance reviews
• Present complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Champion sustainable design that supports better health outcomes, grounded in current research
• Serve as Lead Engineer or Engineer of Record on key projects

What You’ll Need

• 15+ years of professional experience, including hospital design from concept through construction administration and systems commissioning
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
• Experience leading teams as project manager or project director on medium to large projects
• Proven leadership in mechanical design with a client-focused, collaborative approach
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
